We discuss your progress and strategies to overcome challenges. Documents, files and questions can be sent in between meetings in preparation for us to review them at the next meeting. Each session will end with clear, actionable steps to keep your project moving forward.
-
Email support between sessions: Coaching clients have access to support throughout the month. Working on your project and running into a question? Want a quick response about whether your first steps of a process are on the right track before completing the whole task? No need to wait for our next coaching session; just email me! Document Review – Document reviews (dissertation chapter, IRB applications, article drafts, grant proposals) are completed in one or two rounds.
Round One: A line-by-line review with edits made via tracked changes. Emphasis is placed on sentence and paragraph structure as well as overall flow of the document. APA 7th edition corrections are made as well as corrections for spelling, grammar and general typos. Feedback is provided in areas where more detail or clarity is needed. Two documents are returned. One copy with tracked changes and a second “clean” copy that has all changes accepted but keeps all comments with regard to additional detail that is needed – $250
Round Two: A second round of review can be done after you have made edits based on the feedback in round one. This is a second line-by-line review with edits and feedback on your revised document. – $75

Study Design Support – $800. Sometimes individuals or organizations need help designing ways to collect data. The Research School can help. This is a comprehensive service where we develop the vision together and The Research School finds and documents the appropriate instruments and procedures to be used. This is a package that includes the following.
-
Four (4) one-on-one meetings. Each meeting is scheduled for 30 minutes. The first meeting will discuss the needs and goals of the project. Subsequent meetings will allow for time to review the development of the project as it unfolds.
-
Research and/or development of surveys, interview protocol or other instruments needed to collect data. The meeting times can be used to review the instruments and provide feedback so that more fine-tuning can be done as needed.
-
Providing a detailed data collection plan that outlines how the participants can be recruited, how the data will be collected and any other relevant details for the specific study. This plan will also be discussed in the meetings to ensure that the right plan is designed for your needs.

Please email drsmith@theresearchschool.org to schedule a meeting to review your data analysis needs.
Data Analysis and Reporting – The Research School can support your data analysis process and provide reports of study results and findings. Prices depend on the number of participants, the number of instruments and questions as well as the type of analysis that is needed. Typical projects cost around $500 - $800. A typical quantitative project has less than 500 participants, one survey with up to 50 questions, and needs descriptive analysis along with 2-3 key inferential tests (t-test, ANOVA, correlation and regression). A qualitative equivalent would be 10–15 participants with interview transcripts that need thematic analysis based on key concepts already identified. Packages are based on the following. The following are considered when determining the price.
-
Number of participants – This is important for both quantitative and qualitative studies. Quantitative studies with a large number of participants will mean a large amount of data. Large datasets take more time to clean, code and prepare for analysis. For qualitative studies, each participants’ records must be reviewed multiple times and processed. More participants means more time to review.
-
Number of questions – It is important to know how many questions a survey or interviews will have. It’s also important to know how long qualitative interviews will be. These details will inform how much time is needed to review and clean data.
-
Sophistication of analysis – Qualitative analysis may be inductive, deductive or both. Each approach requires a set time to complete. While quantitative analyses may be faster to run, more sophisticated analyses have specific assumptions that must be established for the particular dataset and checked before any analysis is run. Knowing these details will help to establish how much time will be needed.
A preliminary meeting ($50/30 minutes) is necessary to discuss the details of the study. After this meeting, a project plan with pricing will be developed. Please email drsmith@theresearchschool.org to schedule a meeting to review your data analysis needs.
Program Evaluation and Workshops – The Research School can provide program evaluation for organizations and grant projects. Workshops on topics related to conducting research are also available. As these are highly individualized they require a meeting to review. Please email a request drsmith@theresearchschool.org with details about your general needs.
