Grant Writing
-
The Research School assists professionals and organizations with writing full grant proposals as well as writing the methodology sections related to program evaluation, data collection and measuring impact. While this is often integrated with program evaluations or impact studies, standalone grant writing services are also provided.
Program Evaluation and Impact Studies
A comprehensive program evaluation—which is what The Research School specializes in—involves a holistic look at your work, from the initial idea to the final community impact.

-
For funded projects. Strong grant applications outline the way the grant project or program will be evaluated. The Research School works with you to design an effective evaluation plan that outlines the objectives, outcomes and milestones for your project including a written summary for your grant application. The Research School also works with grantees to implement their evaluations to help them determine how well their processes are working and find ways for improvement. This involves a holistic look at what goes into a program, its outcomes, impact and efficiency as well as writing up the results.
-
Need to evaluate a project or program that isn't grant funded? This is a great way to ensure you are meeting your goals and generate data that can be leveraged for future planning and funding. The Research School develops program evaluation plans, implements them and writes up the results in a way that can be used in reports, grant applications and marketing.

Impact studies focus on the outcomes related to your overarching goals and objectives. They include identifying ways to collect data, analyzing the resulting data and reporting the findings.
-
Data Collection. We help organizations find sound, integrated ways to collect data without overwhelming your staff. This means using methods that fit into your current workflow, making the process effective and accessible. We can use simple tools like brief client surveys, existing case files, or structured interviews.
-
Data Analysis. We then take this data and complete the analysis, guided by your need to show accomplishments to your stakeholders. The analysis will focus on metrics that clearly show the change in knowledge, behavior, or circumstances of your participants.
-
Reporting. The findings are reported in a way that is clear and useful for various audiences—whether it’s a detailed report for your grant application, a straightforward summary for your board, or powerful stories and metrics for your marketing and fundraising materials.
